Founded in 2014, Harrison Hugs devotes its energy to increasing awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) and ensuring people are able to have an immediate and educated response. Youth are filled with the hope to make a difference, defined by tenacity to try, and fortified by chance to do. For those to whom enough chances may not be given, Harrison Hugs works to give them back. Find out how you can contribute to the legacy of Harrison Parks and save lives through the support of this organization.
DONATIONS & SUPPORT
When witnessing cardiac episodes, knowing how to act is key. High quality CPR and utilizing an AED increases survival rates. Without sufficient access to AEDs within schools, SCA more frequently becomes SCD.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of sudden death in young people, with approximately 5,700 cases reported each year. SCA can affect people aged 13 to 40 years old; however, it is especially tragic when seen in young people.
IMPORTANCE OF AEDs
Welcome to Harrison Hugs
Aiming to make a difference in SCA awareness,
schools and community
Many high schools only have one available AED on a given campus. Through partnerships, Harrison Hugs can provide life-saving Zoll AED Plus units for approximately $1,500. With more AEDs in schools, students will have better chances of SCA survival.
